Суть проблемы такова.
Дистрибутив Symplylinux был обновлен с p5 до p6.
После этого он перестал загружаться в графическом режиме.
Мат. плата ASUS P5KPL-AM SE с интегрированной видеокартой intel 82G33/G31.

LiveCD ALT Linux 6.0.0 KDesktop запускается и работает без нареканий.
Поиски в Google результатов не дали.
Проблему решал так:

X-сы стали запускаться, но тормоза при воспроизведении видео.
В mplayer видео отстает от звука. В Kaffeine изображение дергается.
Замена драйвера intel на vesa в xorg.conf результатов не дали.
Теже проблемы с воспроизведением видео.
При настройке видеокарты через acc центр управления системой X-сы слетают и приходится восстанавливать ручной правкой xorg.conf.
