Попробовал с флешки 32 бит молчит
Попробовал с флешки 64 бит воспроизводит но с тормозами

Из-за старой Mesa, аналогичная ситуация с процессором Pentium N3540 была. В smplayer выберите вывод через X11. Вроде должно заработать. А вообще лучше на Сизиф вам переходить с таким видео.

IMHO самый миниатюрный плейер - это avplay.

mpeg4 - это контейнер (типа архива для видео), а сам кодек - это :

VCD, SVCD, DVD, Blu-ray, 3ivx, DivX 3/4/5, WMV,     H.264 и т.п.
