на днях напишу ответ

разделы на IDE винчестере видятся из под ALT 5, но только с файловой системой ntfs, а с ext3 - нет
пока вставлял листинг, перестали монтироваться разделы и ntfs

Устанавливаю AltLinux 4.0 Office Server, диск разбивал в авто режиме, дошел до установки загрузчика и Lilo выдает вот эту ошибку "Lilo test: Fatal: open: /boot/vmlinuz No such file or directory"
Что делать? Help please!!

При ручном разбиение тоже самое....

Значит что-то Вы делаете не так. Возможно, устанавливаете загрузчик не на винт, а в раздел.
